Our Philosophy

Sweethaven Christian Academy is dedicated to the philosophy that Biblical education is the only true education. This view holds that God is central and that everything else exists in relation to Him. The Bible says that the "fear of God" is the beginning of both knowledge and wisdom. Therefore, any valid education must have this "reverence of God" as its starting point and "doing the will of God" as its goal.

It is our conviction that a Christian school should provide both an environment and a curriculum conducive to effective learning. Therefore, we believe quality education includes building strong spiritual character, patriotism, and discipline.

The basic objectives for which we strive are:

• To provide sound academic training integrated with a Biblical view of God and the world.
• To uphold the Bible as specific in stating the principles which underlie Christian education.
• To instill a solid belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that the Bible is the inspired Word of God.
• To build personal character.
• To develop citizenship.
• To retain good health and related habits.
• To lay the foundation for a vocation.
• To impart fundamental skills.
• To maintain high academic standards.
• To teach enduring patriotism.
• To achieve discipline.
• To maintain high moral standards.

In light of these objectives all students will be expected to recite the pledge to the Christian and American flag each morning.
